Chapter 1:

Content Marketing-Read As Much As You Can

First off, if you hate reading, then how are you ever going to become a writer/content marketer?  Being a good writer/content marketer requires the love of reading. How are you going to edit your own work, if you hate reading? It is not possible to hate reading when you want to become a writer.

It is important to get your hands on various materials, this way you give yourself an opportunity to learn new things. Not only does reading enlighten our minds about things we didn’t know, but it improves our vocabulary and allows us the subconsciously pick up words that we normally wouldn’t say or have in our vocabulary.

Try reading about your favorite authors and what paths in life they took to get to where they are today.

Of course, there are those notable writers who weren’t noticed until they were six feet under, they too, should be appreciated just as much.

Chapter 2:

Find Out What You Are Good At

It is often hard to tap into what we are good at. If you really want to make money writing, then it is suggested that you discover what you really love.  Perhaps you are striving to be a writer, but you don’t know what you are good at.  If this is the case, it is highly advised that you read as much as you can, as we explained in the previous chapter.

If you want to become a writer than you need to love what you do, otherwise you will have to spend enormous amounts of time writing, and you may end up hating your life.

We will help you open your eyes and look outside of the box to determine what you are good at.

Finding what you are good at is not an easy task; if it were, then everyone would be doing what they love. Instead, plenty of people are running the rat race and going into a corporate or private company job which they end up hating.

Hating your job and career is one of the worst things that could possibly happen because we spend a ton of our time at work.

Once you find out what you are good at, you can start getting paid to do what you love; then work, no longer becomes hard work, it becomes a hobby.

Get paid for your wonderful passion. If you are a writer and you happen to be interested in writing about finance than we highly suggest that you delve into reading like-minded websites, and so on.

Content is everywhere we look. We almost forget that so much content exists, because we are so used to it that it subconsciously is just there.

We are here to live, love, and give. The earth gives us humans plenty of things to be grateful for; food and water are just a few things that our precious earth provides us with.

So, now you may have the question, how do I find out what I am good at? The question is easy, you need to determine what fulfills your soul, and what makes you happy.

Start thinking about yourself, what do you like to read about when you are not at your current job? You’ll have to search deep from within to find out what your true craft is.

When we are working and doing our craft, then we are fulfilling our journey and what we were put here on earth to do.

Chapter 3:

Differentiate Yourself With A Niche

There are myriads of writers in the market, or we should say, writers who claim they are writers; but are they really getting paid for their services is the question?

Each writer needs to differentiate oneself with a niche, considering how many markets exist in today’s economy. Our economy is flooded with new markets each and every day.

Chances are, the industry that you are thinking of writing about is flooded with other writers, or chances, it is not. It all depends, this is why research is entirely important before you decide to go full force into your new writing career. We will delve into this topic in another post.

Chapter 4:

Write Instead Of Think

We all dream of becoming a writer, we dream about what it would be like to work from home, or from anywhere in the world, and on a beach if we choose to. Writing can seem intimidating to people who are looking for a way out of their normal job.

Whether you are in the hard grinding film industry or you are in a cushioned nine to five type of job, you can choose to write for money part-time or full-time; either way, if you’re doing what you love and you are getting paid, then you’ll really never work a day in your life.

If you have a family to take care, lots of kids, and a lot of mouths to feed than we highly recommend that you think wise before you leave your job that pays the bills.

Start by giving yourself a routine, perhaps every day after you finish working and you’ve already had dinner; once you’re all settled, make it a point to carve out at least an hour every evening, this way you can start writing.

Once you get into the business side of writing, you’d better believe it, clients will be asking to see your portfolio work. Having a nice portfolio with your best works presented will always get you in the door; of course, a good personality helps too.

It is utmost important to display zero mistakes when you are presenting your new clients with your sample works.

If you don’t have any portfolio work to present, we suggest that you write articles on the topic that you want to eventually work in.
